Have you heard? The third adventure movie from the Chronicles of Narnia series, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, based on a popular book by C.S. Lewis, will be released in the U.S. on December 10. The trailer for this movie was released recently.
Continuing the story from The Lion, the Witch, and The Wardrobe and Prince Caspian, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader returns Edmund and Lucy to Narnia with their cousin Eustace. Here the children meet with Prince Caspian for a trip across the sea aboard the royal ship The Dawn Treader. Along the way they encounter dragons, dwarves, and a band of lost warriors before reaching the end of the world.
Unlike the recent Disney-produced Narnia films, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is being released by 20th Century Fox studios. However, the familiar faces of Edmund (Skandar Keyenes), Lucy (Georgie Henley), Prince Caspian (Ben Barnes), and Aslan (voice by Liam Neeson) will be returning, along with others.
As with all of C.S. Lewis' classic books, this story also has many Christian symbolic themes and lessons for preaching or for classroom study. Pastors and ministers, check out Narnia Faith where you can view a trailer of the movie to show to your congregations. Teachers, visit Narnia resources for study guides, questions, lesson plans and more.
Did you know Alpha Omega Publications also offers a documentary DVD entitled The Life of C.S. Lewis: Through Joy and Beyond? Why not turn a movie release into a fun and educational experience?
