It has been said that education is a gift. At PeaceMakers Academy in Sioux City, Iowa, the gift of education is that much greater because students are taught much more than facts and figures. Learning God's Word is central to educating the students enrolled at the academy. PeaceMakers' mission is to provide a place for training, preparation, and equipping young people so they may take the ministry of Jesus to the ends of the earth.

At Alpha Omega Publications®, we are proud to provide PeaceMakers with LIFEPAC® and Switched-On®, curriculum solutions that support their mission.

On two consecutive Wednesdays in March, the entire Alpha Omega Publications schools department, as well as a few members of the IT team, visited with the inspiring students and teachers at PeaceMakers. Preschoolers entertained AOP staff with songs from Horizon's sing-along CD. In addition, AOP staff observed students hard at work in their computer lab.

Brittany, a sophomore at PeaceMakers, took some time to chat with me. She has been at PeaceMakers since eighth grade, and really loves the computerized curriculum - and no wonder, with her plans! She is accelerating through high school and is planning on graduating next year! She loves being able to work at her own pace.

After the tour of the school, Principal Donna Smith led the staff in a visit to the church that started it all, Cornerstone World Outreach, which underwrites and supports PeaceMakers Academy, one of its many ministries. Cornerstone started PeaceMakers "to raise up students who walk in the truth and light of God's Word and who are academically strong."

Alpha Omega Publications provides curriculum that enables the educators at PeaceMakers to teach their students both the Bible and a biblical worldview, preparing them for ministry, no matter what field they choose for their future. Students start in preschool using exclusively Horizons and LIFEPAC until second grade. Then Switched-On computer-based curriculum is integrated into the daily schedule. In seventh grade, the students use Switched-On exclusively until they graduate.
