It seems as if everyone these days is talking about college readiness, and many students are doing all they can in high school to get ahead. With that in mind, Alpha Omega Publications® is pleased to announce the addition of two new AP courses to our Switched-On Online® curriculum: Calculus (for use with AP* courses) and U.S. History (for use with AP* courses). Designed to be academically equivalent to college courses, these new courses help prepare your students to take the College Board's AP exams.
Calculus (for use with AP* courses) is a challenging full-year course with a focus on high-level math skills, conceptual understanding, and the use of technology. This course covers the essential elements necessary for students to successfully prepare for College Board AP testing. In order to excel in this course, students should have previously completed two years of algebra, one year of geometry, and one year of pre-calculus (which includes trigonometry).
U.S. History (for use with AP* courses) emphasizes movements and events that helped shape the United States from 1492 through 1877. This study of America provides a rich-cultural foundation for today's students covering the history of our country from many angles with an exploration of economics, politics, art, societal factors, religion, music, literature, and more.
These classes are demanding and require off-computer materials including textbooks and a graphing calculator. In addition, unlike most Switched-On Online courses, teachers must provide a higher level of support and attention and will be required to do more offline grading.
In addition to new courses, exciting new user-friendly features have been incorporated into our curriculum, including a variety of background themes, enhanced navigation, split-screen browsing, and more.
We're excited about these enriching additions to Switched-On® and our online learning environment, as we feel they help you better meets the needs of your individual students.
Together with schools like yours, Alpha Omega Publications provides curriculum that educates students not only in academics, but in leadership, and with Christian values that will serve them throughout their lives.
