The summer school season is wrapping up, and while not all schools have a summer school program, it can be a very rewarding time for students to catch up on credits, retake classes, or take advanced classes.

This summer, University Christian School in Jacksonville, Florida, used Alpha Omega Publications' Switched-On Online™ program for the first time. A K-12 school with approximately 760 students, University Christian had a total of 68 students enrolled in their summer school program, which ran from June 15 through July 24. Mr. Bruce Weightman, the assistant principal at University Christian, was in charge of their summer school program, and he said that Switched-On Online worked very well. In fact, 65 of the 68 students in the program took two full semesters during this time period....

On July 1, 2009, eSchool News presented a study titled "Students Want More Online Learning." However, this study stated the concern that supply was not meeting the demand for online learning. In fact, "according to the report, more than 40 percent of sixth through 12th graders have researched or demonstrated interest in taking a course online, but only 10 percent have actually taken an online course through their school."...
