Last year dozens of area Christian schools banded together to help deliver a message to Christian parents about the responsibility they have to consider providing a Christian education for their children. The vehicle used to do this is the website www.DiscoverChristianSchools.com. Nationwide, thousands of parents have already been reached.

DiscoverChristianSchools.com is a communication arm of the Mid-Atlantic Christian Schools Association and has received national publicity as a significant tool to help promote Christian schools as well as a biblical worldview of Christian education.

DiscoverChristianSchools.com's mission statement gets straight to the point:

• To engage parents in a dialogue concerning God's truth about their child's training and future
• To provoke parents to think biblically about their child's education
• To inspire parents to give their children the best
• To connect parents with the right Christian school

This past spring through private and corporate donations, and especially through the giving of financial resources from over 50 Christian schools in the Mid-Atlantic area, we were able to send a clear message to millions of radio listeners about the importance of a Christian education. The radio commercials are thought-provoking and boldly challenge parents to think wisely. You can go on-line to the website and hear what has moved thousands of people to respond to Christian education. At the peak of advertising we saw 400+ unique visitors per day, the average visitor looked at 8-12 pages on the website and with very little advertising we still maintain 100 visitors each day (or approximately 3,000 visitors per month). In addition, DiscoverChristianSchools.com has been featured in World Magazine with an ad campaign, and has had extensive publicity in dozens of newspapers across the U.S. such as USA Today, the Boston Herald, CNN.com, Philadelphia Inquirer, Indianapolis Star, Fort Worth Star, International Herald (France), Kansas City Star, The Trentonian, Worldwide Religious News, Star Tribune in Minneapolis, Christian Newswire and the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life, to name a few. Plus, Crosswalk.com, which has 20 million visitors per month, will also be working with DiscoverChristianSchools.com on an exciting Internet campaign.

Right now, if you type in your school's zip code, your own school will probably come up on the "school finder." We have over 7,000 schools registered, and this makes DiscoverChristianSchools.com one of the nation's largest data bases for Christian schools. Our hope is that you will join together as one body with other Christian schools in your area and become one voice that will proclaim God's word and educate Christian parents. You may contact us to discuss a marketing strategy to forward the message to thousands, perhaps millions, in your area.

DiscoverChristianSchools.com was not necessarily created to increase student enrollment, although that would be a great plus. It was created to have all Christian parents think and pray hard about what is best for their family educationally.

Romans 12:3 says, ".I say to every man among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think"; and verses 4 & 5 state, "For just as we have members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another." What schools in our area have proven is that we have started to break down the walls of "territory" and have begun to work together as one body in order to promote God's plan for His children.
