School Messenger - February 2008

I marvel at the ability of many Americans to turn a deaf ear to the obvious social engineering occurring in public schools today. Please understand that I do not wish to engage in hyperbole nor am I a great fan of "conspiracy" theories. Hyperbole and conspiracy theories aside—the reality of social engineering has once again arrived in the great state of California and eventually will be coming to a public school classroom near you....

Editor's Note:

In your introductory letter of AOP's latest catalog you wrote: "Our purpose at AOP is to make your Christian school a success!" I am writing to attest to that remark.

As a new school (having previously limited our work to summer day camp and year-round preschool and kindergarten levels), we searched through many, many educational materials. Some were simply outdated, others too denominationally rigid, and most simply of a lower level of excellence than which we could accept. Youth in today's culture often lack direction and motivation. If the mission of your school is to train Christian leaders who will impact the next generation, then you should make the decision to participate in the Northwest Student Convention to be held at George Fox University, Newberg, Oregon, on May 6-9, 2008.

Your school has an opportunity to be a part of something very exciting which will give your students direction and purpose, plus build excitement for their Christian faith as they encounter a vision of something bigger than themselves. They will be challenged to reach for a goal and develop God-given talents which often lay dormant. With over 100 events in academics, creative arts, music, platform, and athletics, every student will be challenged to refine his talents and gifts and use them for future ministry. This event will emphasize planning, preparing and practicing, while pursuing character qualities which will positively influence today's culture and future generations....
