In New Britain, Connecticut, God is working in the lives of teachers and students at Bethel Christian Academy. Under the leadership of Pastor Bruce Fletcher, Bethel Christian has devoted everything they do to help at-risk youth, students who have struggled in a public school setting, and students who normally couldn't afford an education from a private Christian school. Best of all, these students are making visible changes in their lives as a direct result of their Christian education.

Pastor Bruce has changed the lives of his students through his school, and he attributes some of that success to the Christian content they access every day in their Switched-On® curriculum from Alpha Omega Publications®. During their first year of existence, they used Switched-On Schoolhouse®, and for the last two years, they have used Switched-On Online™. They offer classes for grades 3-12 and currently have 11 students enrolled.

One child in particular convicted Pastor Bruce to open a new school. Bruce had adopted a student whom the public school thought needed a private tutor throughout the whole day, so Bruce devoted his time to working in the student's public school. The child is now 13 years old and has been attending Bethel Christian Academy for three years. He has improved tremendously by working independently, and Bruce attributes this to prayer and his exposure to the Word of God in the Switched-On curriculum.

Another student who has gone through Bethel Christian's doors was a 15-year-old foster child who had been expelled from public school four times in three months. In fact, the public school actually authorized her to attend Bethel Christian Academy. Since she's been attending, Pastor Bruce has already seen improvements in her academically and behaviorally.

What a blessing it is for AOP to partner with Bethel Christian and watch God's hand impact the young lives of students! Sharing these stories helps fellow believers renew their hope and efforts in what we're all doing together as Christian educators.
