What do you get when you add three new electives and one completely rewritten math course to one innovative online curriculum? Even more online course options for Switched-On Online® students.

Just in time for the 2010-11 school year, we're pleased to announce the release of three new electives and a completely redesigned 7th Grade Math course as part of our comprehensive online curriculum.

With a focus on strengthening skills needed for problem solving, number sense, and proportional reasoning, 7th Grade Math prepares middle school students for pre-algebra. In this year-long course, students explore concepts learned in previous courses, are introduced to new concepts, and gain an increased awareness of math as a life skill.

Physical Fitness is a semester-long elective designed for high school students. This course does more than teach the concepts of fitness, nutrition, motivation, and other health-related topics. Students are required to perform basic physical activities and log their progress for an increased understanding of the benefits of making healthy life choices.

Designed for high school students, Foundations for Living: Studies in the Christian Worldview®  is a ten-unit elective that teaches students how God's Word gives instruction for every situation in life. This course prepares young people to be Christian servants and leaders.

Music Theorya semester-long elective, introduces students to the basic concepts behind making and understanding music. The course includes an exploration of rhythm, meter, notes, pitch, and harmony, and encourages students to perform and compose their own music with off-computer projects.

"It's exciting to be able to offer Christian schools a broad range of core and elective course options that are based on God's Word and promote Christian living," said Rohn Gibson, Vice President of Marketing. "Our new Switched-On Online Foundations for Living course provides much more than important content. It gives your students the tools to think and live with discernment and conviction."

The Switched-On Online curriculum includes the five core subjects of Bible, history and geography, language arts, math, and science for grades 3-12, as well as a variety of electives. With these new courses, Alpha Omega Publications renews its commitment to leading the way in providing Bible-centered, technology-based curriculum.
