At Alpha Omega Publications®, we are increasingly concerned about the effect the public school system is having upon Christian children throughout our nation. We also realize many churches want to offer a viable solution, but are lacking in funds, facility space, and adequate staffing. For this reason, we developed School in a Box to assist these ministries in offering an affordable, Christ-centered, academically-sound educational alternative to their communities.

The plan is very simple. We bring the school to the ministry facility via the services of our accredited online academy, known as Alpha Omega Academy® (AOA). Accredited through the Commission on International and Trans-regional Accreditation (CITA) and the North Central Association/Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA/CASI), AOA provides all curriculum, teacher assistance, and recordkeeping. The ministry provides the facility with an Internet connection and qualified adult supervision. Students in grades K-12 are enrolled in AOA and come to the facility to complete their daily work. Grade K-2 students use a combination of paper-based curriculum to build a solid foundation in reading and math skills, while grade 3-12 students complete daily assignments with our interactive computer-based curriculum, Switched-On Schoolhouse®.

Since the core academic portion of the school is provided by AOA, the ministry has great flexibility in determining the schedule that will best meet the needs of their parents. This flexibility also easily allows each ministry the opportunity to provide a personalized, spiritual component to their students, such as chapel services, devotions, and community outreach or missions trips.
