Founded in 1992, the campuses of Cascade Christian Schools are located in Puyallup, Tacoma, and Frederickson, Washington and serve students from preschool through grade 12. In addition, there are three childcare centers, and before-and-after school care is available at all three elementary schools. Cascade Christian is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International, and is a member of the Washington Federation of Independent Schools.
We at Cascade Christian Schools (CCS) are dedicated to glorifying God by providing Christ-centered education that develops leaders who are spiritually, personally, and academically prepared to impact their world. By focusing on education with a biblical worldview, the qualified and caring teachers help students learn how to make decisions based on God's Word. Students are encouraged to discover how God has designed them with unique gifts and a specific purpose for their lives.
This fall, Cascade Christian Schools integrated Switched-On Schoolhouse (SOS) courses into its junior and senior high school. This curriculum provided additional elective courses for high school students as well as recovery credits for those students who needed them. The Cascade Christian Junior and Senior High program is designed to transition students from elementary (K-6) to junior high (7-8), and from junior high to high school (9-12).
Core foundational academics that are integrated from a biblical worldview focus on teaching leadership skills, effective communication, and upper-level thinking ability. The integration of a Christian perspective throughout Cascade Christian's entire secondary curriculum points students toward a knowledge and acceptance of a biblical worldview that is both responsible and credible in light of scripture. The SOS curriculum clearly matches this endeavor - integrating biblical principles throughout its content. It is a match for us and we are continually looking for ways to utilize it more in our 3rd-12th grade traditional classes. We also intend to use it in those non-traditional areas of our curricular program:
- Before and after-school enrichment and remedial support, 3rd grade to 12th grade
- Summer enrichment, extra help, and recovery courses
- Virtual school to enhance our regular traditional school and provide our educational curricular model nationally and internationally
CCS is committed to the vision of instilling our Guiding Principles into the lives of our students. This includes our commitment to achieve CCS Academic Student Outcomes by graduating students who:
- Have strong foundational skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, thinking, math, science and computer technology, to be equipped for successful living and higher education
- Think clearly, analytically, logically, and critically
- Demonstrate competence in independent research, logical reasoning, and critical thinking, utilizing a variety of resources, including technology
- Have a knowledge and understanding of people, cultures, events and movements in history
