Rock Rapids, IA (January 25, 2011) - Alpha Omega Publications® recently released the results of a case study conducted at Eagles Nest Christian Academy in Panama City, Florida. The study strongly suggests that not only does Switched-On® prepare students for college and careers, but it also indicates that teachers are overwhelmingly satisfied with the performance the curriculum in their classrooms.
The study, created to measure the efficacy of Switched-On Online® curriculum, confirms what many users have suggested in the past.
According to school administrator Doug Boucher, "The real value of Switched-On and AOP material is that we're able to take kids who would not pass in the public school, and not only do they pass and get a diploma here, but many of them go on to college. That's the big thing."
The study indicates that on average, students at Eagles Nest Christian Academy outperformed their counterparts both in their state and across the United States on the ACT college entrance test.
Other notable findings include the following:
• Standardized tests indicate that fourth graders experienced significant academic gains based on grade level after using Switched-On for one year.
• Standardized tests indicate that ninth graders showed significant academic gains, especially in reading and math.
• While enrolled in Switch-On courses, the average student earned a B+.
• Ninety-three percent of Eagles Nest graduates successfully advanced into college or other vocational program.
Eagles Nest opened in 2007 to provide an academically rigorous program in the context of a Bible-based learning environment, and specializes in a variety of educational niches including homeschoolers, international students, and at-risk youth.
