Alpha Omega Publications® is pleased to announce the formation of a new partnership with Dr. Morris Chapman, former president and CEO of the Southern Baptist Convention’s executive committee, to support Christian education for America’s young people.
Working with AOP’s Christian schools division, Chapman will reach out to churches across the country to educate them on the importance of Bible-based education and pique their interest in School-in-a-Box, which offers new schools a blueprint for getting started.
"For a pastor to establish a Christian school is the most direct and immediate means to touch a growing number of teenagers and children with an effective witness for Christ,” Chapman said. “It’s imperative for us to begin to saturate our nation with Christian education before the time comes when we can no longer do so."
School-in-a-Box is a comprehensive academic solution for churches considering starting their own Christian school or for existing schools looking for affordable and service-oriented options to keep their schools open and effective. With both online and print-based course options, this program is Bible-based and has been proven effective and rigorous for students in grades K-12. School-in-a-Box offers administrative support and teaching assistance to make it easier for new Christian school administrators.
According to Roy Faletti, AOP’s vice president of educational services, in addition to promoting School-in-a-Box to the Southern Baptist church community, Chapman will organize two national meetings for church leaders interested in starting schools. He also anticipates arranging a pastor’s luncheon, which AOP would host, at the 2011 Southern Baptist Convention.
