The Cross and the Towers
September 11, 2001, is a date that will never be forgotten. On this day, a terrorist attack in New York City claimed nearly 3,000 lives and left a scene of incomprehensible destruction and hearts overwhelmed with despair. Then, in the midst of the devastation, an amazing symbol of hope was found buried beneath the rubble of Ground Zero. The Cross and the Towers is an emotion-stirring documentary that follows seven individuals whose lives were changed forever by 9/11 and asks the question, "In the middle of your worst nightmare, where do you find hope?" In The Cross and the Towers, your class will hear the untold, firsthand accounts of seven individuals who first faced despair, but later found renewed hope after finding an amazing discovery buried amidst the rumble.
Combining actual footage from 9/11 with realistic reenactments, this documentary gives viewers an unapologetic glimpse of Ground Zero and the people closest to it. The film received five Doves from The Dove Foundation and the Family-Approved Seal for ages 12 and over. Due to its frank content, The Cross and the Towers may not be appropriate for younger viewers. Older audiences will appreciate this moving portrait of a day Americans will never forget.
