For Switched-On Online®, the minimum system requirements are as follows:

  • Live, high-speed internet connection (DSL, cable, or fiber connection recommended)
  • Standard web browser
    -Firefox® 3.0 or higher (recommended)
    -Microsoft® Internet Explorer® 7.0 or higher
  • Adobe® Flash® Player 9 or higher
  • Java® Runtime Environment
  • A PDF reader (such as Adobe® Acrobat® Reader® 9 or higher or Foxit™ Reader)
Optimal System Requirements
  • If you are using a wireless network, you need to have the 802.11g protocol or newer.
  • Bandwidth recommendations are 25 KB (kilobytes) per user.
  • To take full advantage of the multimedia content, you will need the latest version of Flash® Player and a program for reading .PDF files such as Adobe® Reader as noted above.
  • We also recommend you take other steps for protecting your computer and student online.
